At Sangam Surgery, our primary role is to provide NHS medical care to our patients. However, there are certain services that fall outside the scope of the NHS, and these are referred to as Non-NHS Services.
These services are not funded by the NHS, so we must charge a fee to cover the time, resources, and administrative work involved.
Examples of Non-NHS Services include:
- Private medical certificates
- Travel vaccination certificates
- Holiday cancellation forms
- Employment or driving medicals (e.g., HGV, DVLA)
- Insurance reports
- Letters for schools, employers or housing authorities
- Adoption or fostering medicals
Why do we charge for these services?
These services require GP time and staff resources outside of their NHS duties. Like any professional, GPs must be compensated for work that isn’t part of their regular NHS contract. Fees are set based on the time required, the complexity of the task, and administrative costs.
We aim to keep our fees fair and transparent. A full list of our current charges is available in the surgery and below.
